Before anything else, take a moment to ask yourself:
🔹 Why am I doing this cleanse? Are you looking for a reset? More energy? A way to kickstart healthier habits? Having a clear "why" will keep you motivated when things get tough.
🔹 How do I want to feel? Visualize yourself at the end of your cleanse—energized, refreshed, and completely in tune with your body.
🔹 What am I hoping to learn? A cleanse isn’t just about detoxing; it’s about tuning into what your body really needs and how food makes you feel.
I always write my answers down in a pre-cleanse journal, setting positive intentions for my journey ahead. Trust me—it makes all the difference! 💚
Ease Into It: Give Your Body a Head Start 🍏🥦
Cleansing works best when you ease into it instead of shocking your body overnight. Here’s how to transition smoothly 3-5 days before you start:
1️⃣ Gradually Cut Out Processed Foods
🚫 Processed foods (fast food, packaged snacks, sugary drinks) contain preservatives, additives, and refined sugars that make detoxing harder on your body. They slow digestion and increase inflammation—two things we don’t want when cleansing.
✅ Instead, focus on whole, organic foods like fresh veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains to give your body the clean fuel it craves.
2️⃣ Reduce Caffeine ☕
I get it—coffee is life. But caffeine is a stimulant that can cause withdrawal headaches, energy crashes, and dehydration during your cleanse.
🔹 If you drink multiple cups daily, start scaling back slowly.
🔹 Swap coffee for herbal teas like peppermint, chamomile, or ginger.
🔹 If you must have coffee, keep it black with no milk or sugar—no additives allowed!
This way, you’ll avoid caffeine withdrawal symptoms that can make the first cleanse day rough.
3️⃣ Ditch Dairy & Gluten 🥛🍞
Both dairy and gluten can cause bloating, sluggish digestion, and inflammation. Removing them before your cleanse allows your gut to reset and makes the detox process smoother.
✅ Instead of dairy, try almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk.
✅ Swap out gluten for quinoa, brown rice, or sweet potatoes.
Even if you don’t have sensitivities, going dairy- and gluten-free before cleansing lightens the load on your digestive system.
4️⃣ Hydrate with Mineral Water 💦
Water is everything when it comes to detoxing! But not just any water—quality matters.
🚰 Tap water often contains chlorine, fluoride, and contaminants that force your liver to work overtime. That’s why I always recommend natural mineral water like Ioli Water instead.

Stock Up & Plan Ahead 🛒
Being prepared is half the battle! Here’s how I make sure my cleanse is effortless:
✔️ Pick your cleanse start date – Choose a time when your schedule is light (not before a big event or travel!).
✔️ Stock up on Ioli Water & herbal teas – You’ll be drinking a lot of fluids, so get enough to last.
✔️ Schedule extra rest – Your body will be working hard, so allow for extra downtime and relaxation.
✔️ Get a small cooler bag – If you’re on the go, this keeps your juices fresh and ready!

I like to think of cleansing as a juice feast, not a fast. That means drinking enough to stay satisfied and energized. Here’s my ideal schedule:
